These Are the Four Student Directors Elected to Arc Board in 2026

Arc Board elections for 2026 have concluded, and of the 31 candidates who ran, four have been elected to represent students and their interests.

These candidates are:

  • Nadia Mostafa
  • Jack Knight
  • Conroy Blood
  • Sumaya Sultana

Nadia and Jack both ran on the ticket ‘Student Alliance’, affiliated with Unity, the right-wing faction of Young Labor. They campaigned on the basis of cost-of-living relief through affordable access to food and cheaper drinks at the Roundhouse.

Conroy and Sumaya ran on a ticket merger of the two SRC tickets SHOUTOUT! and 365, which doesn’t seem to have its own name. Conroy ran on the promise of improved gendered violence prevention and anti-racism training, live music at the Roundhouse, and ethical investments and partnerships. Sumaya campaigned to improve grant options and logistics for club executives and to ensure Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF) are used ethically.

The successful candidates will join the four Student Directors elected previously in 2025, as well as the ex officio directors on the Board, influencing Arc's strategy and governance over the next two years. It is now time for them to put these campaign promises into action through Arc’s several financial and strategic subcommittees that handle how a large proportion of SSAF money, paid by students, is spent.

These results are still provisional, and final eligibility checks will be completed by the Returning Officer. Once that is complete, the new directors will begin their inductions, attend the annual strategy planning retreat, and then begin their terms with a board meeting at which a new Chair of the Board will be elected.
